old days

i can look through pictures all day.
.
im back from the hospital.
took a closer look at ah ma lying on the bed, with her eyes half open.
and i realise ah ma is really getting old.
.
are some things just really inevitable?

.
we’re all growing up faster than i thought.
my cousins.. the ones i grow up with.
they are all grown up now.
im all grown up now.
we are slowly running out of topics to talk about.
we used to play together with an amazing amount of energy.
used to pretend to be teacher/doctors/cooks.
used to stay over at each other’s house and refuse to go home.
used to wear each others clothes.
used to grow up together.
slowly, friends come into my(their) life(lives) and silently took over their(my) positions.

but now we meet once in a few months, or maybe just once a year.
we just smile.
and ask about school.
now, all the roles we used to play at ah ma’s house are all taken over my my little cousins and my fat brother.
the running about and getting scolded…

im a little scared of the future.
i dont know what it holds.
